Bird watching, Traveling, Cooking, Movies and Reading.
I got interested in bird watching while in college. I attended PES College of Arts and Science in Goa, for my bachelors degree. I was a member of nature club which was affiliated with World Wildlife Fund. I attended a few camps organized by WWF-Goa and had a great time. Soon after I also started to Volunteer with WWF-Goa. Due to my interest and enthusiasm I was made a coordinator at WWF-Goa and I along with my best friend Ajay Patil started organizing nature camps. During the camp we schedule a lot of different activities were the attendee learnt about web of life, appreciation of flora and fauna. My favorite activities during these camps were to lead hike and do bird and butterfly watching.
In 1996, I moved to USA. I could not do much bird watching due to my adjustment to a new culture, studies and lack of birding buddies. During my graduate studies (1998 ~ 2003) at RPI, I meet Dr. Charles (Woody) Gilles. He was then the professor of chemistry and we became friends immediately due to our shared interest in bird watching. From then on I have been birding seriously and have gone on a few bird watching trips. Recently I have started my bird watching blog which lists my birding expeditions and bird lists.
